NFF replaces Oliseh with Siasia

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has re-appointed Samson Siasia as coach of the Senior National Football Team, Super Eagles following the resignation of the Sunday Oliseh on Friday.

The appointment was announced by the NFF following the recommendation of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, which held an emergency meeting after Oliseh’s resignation.

Samson Siasia is a former Super Eagles striker and the former head coach of the Nigerian Men National football team from 2010 to October 2011. His contract was terminated following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

He will work with respected tactician Salisu Yusuf, FIFA U-17 World Cup –winner Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.

The combination was recommended by the NFF Technical and Development Committee following Sunday Oliseh’s resignation on twitter in the early hours of Friday.
